Sony admits antitrust investigation
Expects worldwide trouble
By Nick Farrell
Tuesday, 27 October 2009, 11:35SONY HAS ADMITTED that it is being investigated by US antitrust regulators and expects Inspectors Knacker of the Yards of many nations to carry out similar probes.
At the heart of the problem is Sony’s optical disk drive operation. US officials are looking at possible violations of antitrust regulations and no one is saying much else.
Sony Optiarc America supplies a lineup of optical disk drives, including those for DVDs, CD-ROMs, CD-Rs and Blu-ray
disks.
Sony is not saying what products are under investigation. However the rumour mill suggests it has something to do with Blu-ray.
Analysts have been wondering why Blu-ray prices have remained high even though the technology has been commercially available for over three years. HD-DVD has been gone for nearly two-thirds of that time and one would have expected costs to have declined by now. The fact that they haven’t is causing some to question whether or not Sony is doing something to keep the prices up.
Sony invested a lot of cash in creating and promoting Blu-ray and the take-up has not been nearly as fast as it had hoped.
However if antitrust investigations will be looking into that, they could be bad news for the take-up of the technology too.
the people behind these will have no problems getting distinction for the economics module.
okay we didn’t win it.
i meant the inter primers olympics, we took part in the basketball category.
we got eliminated in the quarter finals. i wasn’t really at ease with the fact that i didn’t contribute much to our team’s cause.
i’m gonna spell it out here, i don’t care a fuck. the alex tay is such a hypocrite. nobody likes him anyway. he’s very very arrogant. your team became the champion, so at least be humble about it okay?
he’s already 20 plus but behaves like a fucking 2 yr old, someone please buy him a pacifier.
we didn’t win the tournament, nevertheless its a good experience. i like competitiveness, i like to fight for the ball, i don’t like losing.

Team SP2 – dog team
we should join more such mini competitions, like soccer, basketball or even table tennis.
let me sidetrack abit, i lost quite alot on investment day. nevermind, i’ll live to fight another day. no mood to go to school today, planned to attend the last lesson but my sister need me to make a trip down to hdb office.
had nothing to do, i decided to practice some shooting at the court below.
2 kids and 1 adult ask me wanna play 2 v 2. im cool with that, the court ring rather shaky, all my shots and layouts not going in.
perhaps this indication is all i need to know that my luck is really down and i’ll need to cool things a little.
p.s i really think that most photographers recently look really nerdy & stupid. they really need a makeover for godsake. they’re shooting beautiful sceneries, gorgeous models but that doesn’t deflect from the fact that they dress poorly.
make no sense right? they ain’t engineers or whatever shit. unless they’re from E.E.E shit then i have no complaints about it.
you don’t need to compromise your look while being comfy. thats just an excuse.
photography is an art, please don’t spoil it.
someone really need to voice out about it or they’ll never change.
okay i haven been training as much as i like to nowadays. its only 1 and half month away from the standard chartered marathon, this time i fear i might collapse during the race because of the heat.
the last time i took part in a marathon, is the adidas night marathon.
so this time round, its a different kind of challenge. the conventional-endurance-testing marathon under the scorching sun.
please come and support me, i’m no champion but at least i’m courageous enough to try?
its on dec 6th 2009 at The Esplanade Bridge, the marathon starts at 5:30 am for my category (42.195km).
wait for me at the finish line (End Point : St Andrew’s Road, The Padang), say.. 9:30 or 10:30am?
on a side note, does abs sculpting gel really work?
who doesn’t want washboard abs?
